21212 ? Etonnant pour un nom de restaurant non ? C’est pourtant celui qu’à donné Paul Began à son établissement d’Edimbourg.
21212 annonce le principe du repas. le choix de 2 entrées, la soupe du chef, le choix de 2 plats, le plateau de fromage du chef et le choix de 2 desserts !
Le cadre est vraiment très sympa et les plats sont plus que délicieux (sans parler des vins)
Bref, les images valent mieux qu’un long discours !
21212? Surprising for a restaurant name right? But it’s the name that Paul Began gave to his establishment in Edinburgh.
21212 because of the principle of the meal. The choice of 2 starters, soup of the chef, the choice of two dishes, the cheese plate of the chef and the choice of two desserts!
The ambience is extremely friendly and the food is more than delicious (and i’m not talking about the wine)

Torchlight procession
Le réveillon du nouvel an, appelé Hogmanay, dure 4 jours. Je vous avais pas dit que les Écossais étaient festifs ?

Dès le 30 décembre on voit au loin un attroupement. Bien évidemment, on s’approche !!
Après plusieurs minutes à observer des personnes déguisés en Vikings, on a su que c’était le soir de la procession des Torches. Chacun se munit d’une torche pour défiler derrière eux et des centaines de musiciens.
The 30 of December, we saw a crowd. Of course, we went closer!
After several minutes of watching people dressed as Vikings, we knew it was the night of the procession of torches. Each armed himself with a torch to scroll behind them and hundreds of musicians.
Et bien évidemment, en attendant, on fait tourner !
And of course, meanwhile, is turned!
The whisky experience, Edimbourg, Ecosse
Je ne suis pas fan du whisky mais c’était très intéressant de visiter ce musée pour comprendre comment cette boisson, aimée de tous les écossais, était fabriquée.
Le maltage, le brassage, la fermentation, la distillation, le vieillissement, … et la dégustation !
I’m not a fan of whiskey but it was very interesting to visit the museum to understand how this drink, loved by all the Scots, was manufactured.
Malting, brewing, fermentation, distillation, aging, … and tasting!
Un verre distribué à l’entrée du musée et c’est parti !

Des centaines de bouteilles, plus vieilles les unes que les autres
Hundreds of bottles, one older than the other
Cette bouteille a été conçue spécialement pour l’an 2000. En additionnant les âges des différents whisky qui la compose on arrive à 2000 ans !
This bottle was designed specifically for 2000. By adding the different ages of the whiskey inside of it, you come to 2000 years!
Pour les fans de jeux d’échec, les pièces sont remplies de whisky. Une pièce capturée, un whisky avalé !
Le château d’Edimbourg
On ne pouvait pas visiter Edimbourg sans visiter son château qui surplombe la ville.
Vous pouvez alors y découvrir certains des plus anciens canons d’Europe, les joyaux de la couronne, ou encore les prisons d’Edimbourg.
A voir ! (même sous la pluie …)
